Solutions for Self-Propelled Equipment

Case History

GB ServiceLab carried out work at the Cremona site of a customer, an Italian steelworking group, for scheduled maintenance of Cometto self-propelled transporters.

The overhaul involved replacing the system with compatible Linde Hydraulics units, an overhaul of the coupling, and adaptation of the existing hydraulic circuit.

An overview of predictive maintenance:

There are numerous advantages to scheduled preventive maintenance operations:

  • Planned machine stoppages
  • Reduction in unexpected faults and damage to other components
  • Control over system safety maintenance
  • Extension of the machine’s lifecycle
  • Management of work costs

Although it offers numerous advantages, unfortunately preventive maintenance has margins for improvement in terms of exploiting the entire lifecycle of the machine, limited knowledge of the state of health, safety and high costs of keeping materials in stock.

GB ServiceLab is developing a project in partnership with DISMI DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCES AND METHODS FOR ENGINEERING at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia for the implementation of an integrated Predictive Maintenance Service on mobile equipment.
